If you want to discover the Canadian Rockies, the starting point to reach the must-see places is Banff. The only city in this immense mountain chain, the quantity of accommodation is low for a high tourist demand. To stay in Banff, you have the choice between camping (only in summer) or in one of the hotels, open all year round. On our side, we have chosen to sleep in a hotel. In particular, we had booked 5 nights at Brewster’s Mountain Lodge, a typical hotel in Banff. Spacious room, chalet atmosphere, ideal location, here is our review of our few nights at Brewster Mountain Lodge in Banff.

Brewster Mountain Lodge in Banff: our review
When we first arrived, we barely noticed that we had arrived. Indeed, the hotel is so integrated with the other buildings that it can barely be seen next to the wooden chalets. Brewster Mountain Lodge is a typical hotel in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, ideally located to visit Banff National Park.
As it is located in Banff, it was very easy to get to the facility. From Calgary Airport, we took a shuttle service that took us right down to the hotel. With our 20 kilos of luggage for each of us, including our roller skates, we were very happy not to carry our luggage around in the streets of Banff.
As soon as you enter the hotel, the staff is welcoming and it feels like a Canadian chalet, immersion and a guaranteed atmosphere. We’d almost think we were trappers on vacation! So cliché !
Brewster’s Mountain Lodge: the room
Taking advantage of low off-season prices, we have booked a Suite. The room was super large, lounge area, mezzanine room, we had 35m2 all to ourselves (and our luggage) AND a balcony with a view of the mountains.
In the bathroom, the bathtub is hot tub, so great. After long days on a bicycle, it was THE relaxing moment that helped us to recover well.
Spacious room, Canadian cottage atmosphere, hot tub, we often think with a touch of nostalgia of our few days at Brewster Mountain Lodge in Banff as the stay was perfect.
In terms of noise and soundproofing, an important point, we slept like babies! If there is one unpleasant thing in hotels, it is to be bothered by the comings and goings of the occupants in the corridors, the slamming doors or the noises of the neighbours. There, none of that! Brewsters Mountain Lodge is well soundproofed for a refreshing night’s rest before a big day’s visit.
Brewster’s Mountain Lodge: Services
Next to the spacious room, the hotel offers many services. Starting with a buffet breakfast offered. A real plus when it’s cold to be able to go down into the restaurant room to swallow your jam sandwich and tea without sticking your nose out. Excuse us for being French…But, don’t expect croissants or other chocolate breads. We’re in Canada and it’s not easy to have a French breakfast, of course! But we find bread and jam when, as for us, it is not possible to eat salty food from 8am.
Brewster Mountain Lodge in Banff: the equipment
The most useful equipment in the hotel is the laundry room! Washing machine, dryer, with this, no need to bring too many clothes, you can wash them during your stay. During bad weather, and after intense days, we are very happy to put on clean clothes (especially when we have been travelling for almost three weeks…). Yes, we do have lots of holidays in France.
If you go to Banff in winter, you should know that the establishment has a ski room.
In case you don’t want to go outdoors, don’t be afraid to get bored, fitness centre and library are waiting for you to pass the time. (Alternatively, you can also relax in your hot tub).
